Sorry to hear that you got wet and remained so for so many hours but I was glad to hear that you finally got some much needed rain! Thanks for the link with
the Kowala story. I can't believe that arsonists were responsible for those deadly fires. I hope they are found and charged with mass murder. All those
poor people.

I am feeling so sad today as I read about Natasha Richardson's skiing accident at Mt. Tremblant, in Quebec. This resort is about 2 hours from where I live
and we were just there a couple of months ago ourselves. It doesn't sound like she is doing well - only 45 years old. I don't know if it's just my
hormonal state right now but I just feel sooo sad for her family (husband, Liam Neeson and their 2 teenaged boys).

Lee, I agree. I went online to try and find a news update but couldn't learn much. I hope it is something that she can pull through. They seem to be such a
beautiful and likeable family and for me that makes it even worse.

I don't know if People.com is a site to be trusted but they are claiming that she is already brain dead and that it is just a matter of time before they
remove her from life support. I can't believe a fall on a beginner hill (that she walked away from) caused so much damage. Apparently she suffered bleeding
in the brain and swelling.

It was surprisingly quick and not overly covered in the news (which is nice). Her family announced her death last night. So sad.

It is sad for all. Two motherless boys at such an impressionable age. And such a great talent gone from the world of acting. It seemed like such a silly little
accident and yet it turned into such a major disaster. Life is precious!

I know, I kept thinking last night how quickly she was taken from her husband and her boys. I told my husband about it and he and I just sort of looked at each
other in wonder. Imagine losing someone like that? Life is most definitely precious and something to be celebrated every single day.

That's the scary thing about life. It can change in a second! I sometimes wonder why people get so
caught up in celebrity disasters, but I think it must be because they usually seem so "untouchable" by life's tragedies, and it reminds us that
no one is immune to how fragile every second of every single day is.

Also, we don't hear about the normal person who falls on a beginner ski slope and hits her head and then dies later in the day (and is a mother of two
young boys etc...). We only hear about the celebrity! I would have been equally sad to read about a normal person. I'm findiing myself getting
exceptionally sensitive lately and it's kind of irritating. I have a tough time reading news, watching news etc... as I get very emotionally involved and
then can't stop thinking about it for days. I hope this goes away once the baby is born!! I mean, it's good to be empathetic but I sometimes find it
debilitating.

LeeLee333 wrote:I, too, would feel equally sad if it were a non-celebrity this happened to. The news yesterday had doctors talking about Natasha Richardson's accident, and I had to turn it off. I don't even like hearing about other people's head injuries since we've had scary accidents involving the head in our own family, and it really bothers me hearing about what could have transpired, seeing the brain models on the news talking about how head injuries affect the different parts of the brain and all that kind of thing. It just makes me relive the incidents all over again! Every single time something health-wise happens to a celebrity, the news (Diane Sawyer in particular!) seems to pounce on it and call in every "expert" they can find to discuss it for days on end. I'm just not watching or reading any of it since I already know what happened to her and don't need to hear about it over and over. This is one area where I feel sorry for celebrities and their families. They have absolutely no privacy whatsoever! |

Since I'm still getting on my computer a bit here and there, I have another chance to say
GOOD LUCK TOMORROW!
Plus, I can't resist a little "joke" here: Do you have April Fool's Day on April 1 in CA? If so, since you said you weren't totally sure you'll have a wee lass joining your family unit now, maybe it'll turn out to be a boy afterall!

hey all!!
Just a quick note to let you know that Emerson Evangeline was born April 1st at 9:24am and we are both doing very well now that we are home! She weighed 7lb, 9 ounces and quickly lost a lot of the weight so she is just a little thing (compared to her big brother). She has a head of dark brown hair and deep blue eyes (so far). She's wicked cute and EASY. What an angel. I'll post pics in a couple of days when things are a bit more stable around here!! Lee

Hurray for Lee and little Emerson. What a gloriously beautiful name you decided upon. I've been checking every day to see if you would be back and feel up
to posting. Thanks for the update and welcome to the world Emerson Evangeline. I look forward to hearing stories about how Sebastian feels about his new little
sis.
